Q. What is Program CC?
A. Program CC is a powerful and easy-to-use computer-aided
control system design and analysis program. Program CC has been
used for many years in industry, government laboratories and academic
research and teaching where it has proved to be a useful and reliable
tool. You will enjoy the specialized interface, which provides efficiency
in model building and analysis, as well as the highly interactive
graphics.
Q. What capabilities does Program CC have?
A. Program CC provides comprehensive tools and algorithms
to serve the needs of control designers in many industries and disciplines
using classical or modern control methods. Program CC provides the
proven tools of classical frequency and time domain analysis, stochastic
analysis, sampled data systems, state space models, and optimal
control as well as linear simulation capability to assess designs
and time responses. For more information, please refer to the About
Program CC page or the Command
List.
Q. What are the computer requirements to run
Program CC?
A. A personal computer running Microsoft Windows 95 through
2000 is the minimum requirement.
Q. What is the difference between the Student
and Professional Levels?
A. Program CC is available at two Levels- Student
and Professional. Both Levels contain the same set of commands but
certain restrictions are imposed at the Student Level. The Student
Level allows access to all capabilities with limits on the memory
for variables and the number of states. These limits should be adequate
for most instructional applications in college courses. The Professional
Level is intended for academic research and industrial use and no
limits are imposed on memory size and number of states.
Q. Does Program CC, have programming capability?
A. Yes, Program CC, Version 5 has programming capability
beyond the Version 4 macro. You can write your own functions
in any text editor or directly in Program CC. The function files
that you write, which should have the extension mac,
will be executed like any other commands in Program CC.
Q. How does Program CC, Version 5 differ
from Version 4?
A. Version 5 is a Windows program whereas Version
4 was a DOS program. Each of the various Version 4 packages had
a different set of commands, whereas the two levels of Version 5.0
have the same set of commands. However, certain restrictions are
imposed on the capacity of the Version 5 Student Level. A few functions
in Program CC, Version 4 are not currently implemented in Version
5.0 (i.e., the kranc operator and H-infinity optimal control.) Please
refer to the Command
List for the commands available in Version 5.
Q. Are Program CC, Version 4 macros compatible
with Program CC Version, 5.0 ?
A. No, since the Program CC, Version 5 programming capability
has been improved from the old Version 4 macro capability,
Version 3 and 4 macros must be revised to run in Version 5. Some
of the commands in Version 4 are not compatible with Version 5.
The Program CC, Version 5 commands are summarized in the Command
List.
Q. Can I try Program CC prior to purchase?
A. Yes, you can download the Program CC Version 5.0 Software
from the Download page at no charge.
This software will initially run in Demo Mode until
you purchase an Activation Code. In the Demo Mode the program operates
largely the same as in the Student and Professional Levels but with
very limited capacity. The Copy and Save menus for data and plots
are also disabled.
